I miss playing soccer with the boys in Melbourne. Wait for me. I will be in Melbourne on the 4th of February. Lets play soccer. I will update this post later on. I will put more pictures of Buffaloes FC.
Here is a little something about my team:
Buffalos F.C Club Profile*)
Buffalos F.C is an Indonesian football team based in Melbourne and was formed in 2002 by Yamanie Minabari, Muhammad Ariawan, Saleh Mulahela and Syahrialdi Sikar. The initial players were mostly Indonesian students who play football in Clifton area, Melbourne. Along with time, Buffalos F.C acquires more Indonesian talents across Melbourne who are mainly there for their studies in universities. Since then the team has become one of the most well known Indonesian students football team amongts the Indonesian students football community in Melbourne.
The team had not really made its breakthrough in Melbourne, despite entering a number of Asian or Indonesian tournaments in Melbourne, until the year 2006 when it entered the newly formed Indonesian Student Soccer League. Despite entering the tournament for the first time, Buffalos F.C finished 1st in the table, collecting 28 points out of 30, and was crowned champions; unbeaten, with the most scored goals and the least conceded throughout the league.
The year was also the year when Buffalos were honoured to be the representing team of Victoria, alongside Kooyong United, in the year’s Olimppia, which is a sporting event gathering all Indonesian students associations across Australia, in Melbourne.
Buffalos F.C is known to be the team that respects the game, including the opponents, and is a team that discourages foul languages, as well as promoting the idea that football should be fun and enjoyable. Buffalos F.C aims to develop its players’ ability in football without overlooking the necessity of good human qualities. In Buffalos, football is fun and played in respectable and honourable manners.
